Following the vision of St. Vincent Pallotti, the Society of the Catholic Apostolate (SAC) continues Christ's mission by proclaiming the Gospel, reviving faith, rekindling charity, and encouraging every baptized person to participate actively in the life and mission of the Church. Present in countries around the world, Pallottines serve through pastoral ministry, education, missionary outreach, spiritual formation, and works of charity.
History of the Society of the Catholic Apostolate
The Society of the Catholic Apostolate (SAC) was founded in Rome in 1835 by St. Vincent Pallotti as part of his vision for the Union of Catholic Apostolate. Recognizing the need for renewed faith and greater collaboration within the Church, he established a community of priests and brothers dedicated to evangelization, pastoral ministry, and charitable service. Since its foundation, the Society has expanded throughout the world, serving in parishes, schools, missions, retreat centers, hospitals, and numerous apostolic works. Today, Pallottines continue to carry forward the founder's vision by witnessing Christ's love through prayer, community life, and missionary service.

Community Life
Community life is at the heart of the Pallottine vocation. Members live together in fraternity, sharing prayer, daily life, apostolic work, and mutual support. Rooted in the Eucharist and nourished by God's Word, the community seeks to foster an environment where faith grows, charity flourishes, and each member is strengthened for service. United by a common mission, Pallottines strive to reflect Christ's love through simplicity, hospitality, collaboration, and joyful witness.
Formation Journey
Formation prepares each candidate to live the Pallottine vocation with spiritual maturity, pastoral commitment, and missionary zeal. It is a lifelong journey of growth in faith, community life, and apostolic service.
Initial Contact
A period of discernment and introduction to the Pallottine way of life.
Postulancy
The candidate begins to experience community life, prayer, and apostolic ministry while discerning God's call.
Novitiate
A time of deeper spiritual formation, prayer, and preparation for consecrated life within the Society.
Temporary Consecration
The member makes temporary sacred promises while continuing formation and ministry.
Perpetual Consecration
After sufficient formation and discernment, the member makes lifelong sacred promises within the Society.
Ongoing Formation
Formation continues throughout life, fostering personal growth, spiritual renewal, and faithful service to the Church.

The Union of Catholic Apostolate
The Union of Catholic Apostolate (UAC) is the broader spiritual family envisioned by St. Vincent Pallotti. It brings together lay people, priests, religious communities, and other groups who share a common commitment to evangelization and works of charity. United by the same Pallottine spirituality, members of the UAC collaborate in building a Church where every baptized person recognizes and lives their apostolic vocation. Through communion, cooperation, and shared responsibility, the Union continues the founder's vision of making God's infinite love known throughout the world.
Serving the Church Around the World
Today, the Society of the Catholic Apostolate serves in countries across every continent through parish ministry, missionary outreach, education, spiritual formation, retreat centers, healthcare, youth ministry, and numerous charitable initiatives. Faithful to the vision of St. Vincent Pallotti, Pallottines continue to proclaim the Gospel, strengthen Christian communities, and inspire all people to participate actively in the mission of the Church.
